Supporting other crafting momma's

I am a part of a wonderful group of crafting momma's over at Craft Cafe on CafeMom Forums. I have mentioned them before, they continue to inspire me and I have sewn more things in the last few months than I have in the last few years! I love supporting other crafting moms, and have either purchased from or done a swap to continue to support them.

My first purchase came from Cody over at Lu & Ed, she makes these adorable monsters called Mon-Stor's (get it? A monster that stores things! Brilliant!), that can hold toys, clothes, crafts, etc. She also makes smaller monster plushies with fabulous fun hair. I requested a girlie mon-stor because I am such a girlie girl!

My mon-stor watches over my craft area, she is a perfect addition!

Another mom I have purchased from makes hairbows but she dabbles in sewing as well. She made these ADORABLE dolls that I just HAD to have! She made a red headed doll (and as soon as I get my hair done again, I shall be a red head again lol right now its more of a strawberry blonde) that called my name and said "please adopt me!" which of course I couldnt pass up! It hasnt arrived yet, but here's the picture she posted of her:

How cute is she??!! I cant wait until she arrives <3

Another mom I did a swap with, I made her the boho sling bag, she made me a painting for my sewing area. She first sent me a drawing she did in her paint program for approval and I loved it so much I asked if I could use it as my logo for my website. As soon as she gets an online link, I will add her link. She does amazing paintings and I love my little sewing girl painting! I havent gotten this one yet either, but here's the preview:

I love these crafting momma's and am so glad I am a part of such a great community of women!

Feb. 1st Giveaway and more!

Tomorrow is Feb. 1st, which means my birthday is in exactly 13 days from today. I think a fun giveaway to bring in the month of my birthday and Valentines Day is in order! I will post the giveaway and rules tomorrow so be sure to stop in and check it out!

I've been sewing a lot and posting new items in my storenvy shop! I've made 2 more wallets and a purse to add to my shop, and will be working on another purse today! These purses are a collaboration of all I have learned from different tutorials, put into one purse. I started out with my practice pieces, the first one being too small, and the second one being too big, and finally I worked out a pattern that fit my liking. I kept the first purse I made with these new dimensions and am LOVING it! I love carrying around a purse that other women stop and ask me "ooh, where'd you get that?" and I can say with a bright smile on my face "I made it!" - I love that feeling!

Here is the 2nd purse I made, along with a matching wallet.

I am in love with zipper pockets! And the magnetic snap closure, I feel, is easier to open and close than a snap that clicks into place.

I've also made another wallet with Happy Mochi Yum Yum fabric that I picked up at Fat Quarter Shop, I just love these colors!!

I will be putting together a wonderful sale on my storenvy shop. If you purchase a purse and wallet, you will get a matching cell phone cozy for free! That's a $67 value for only $52! A matching trio set in wonderful hand picked fabrics, and stitched by me with love and care. I thank you all for your continued support, and if there's anything you'd like to see added to my shop, please let me know!

Fabric Lady

This is so me! Hahaha

Wallet/Clutch

I finally decided to try out this tutorial for a wallet and Im so glad I did! I love this wallet and it could also be used as a clutch to grab and go when you dont need a purse! I did a few things differently, using fusible fleece on the main outside fabric and some interfacing on the inside for extra stability. I also added a magnetic snap closure instead of a snap. I am also loving this woodland mushroom fabric, so I just purchased some more! I am going to make a purse and a cell phone cozy to match this wallet.

I also finished a carrying pouch in the Happy Mochi Yum Yum fabric by Monica Solorio-Snow. These little pouches are so cute and perfect for the smaller things you need to carry!

I opened a Storenvy shop yesterday also! It seems a lot of crafters are making their way over to storenvy since its completely free and fully customizable, so my shop looks just like my blog and website! Stop by for a visit and let me know what you think, I love feedback!

Now Im off to make another wallet and a purse. Thanks for stopping by!

Carrying Pouches

These little pouches are so cute and fun to make, Im working on quite a few of them!

My order of fabric from Fat Quarter Shop arrived last week and I've been trying to decide what I should make with them. I basically put together the DS Case I made my daughter for her birthday, but made it slightly bigger and added a zipper pocket to the inside, so these would be great for just about anything! Perfect size for handheld gaming systems with the inside pocket to hold games, or they can be used as a makeup purse, or mini purse for yourself or a child!

After reading about Zipit, an etsy zipper shop, on another bloggers post, I decided to take a look at her zippers. Buying $2 zippers from Joanns and running to the store just for a zipper each time I needed one was really a pain. I figured I'd give Zipit a try. My zippers came in on Wednesday and the colors are perfect for my fabric! At only $10 for a pack of 25 zippers - at Joanns I'd only get 5 zippers for $10! Great prices and I'll definitely be shopping her store again!!

These carrying pouches are addicting to make, so be prepared to see a lot of them from me! I'll be adding these to my website tonight for sale so keep an eye out!

Im currently making one in the Happy Mochi Yum Yum fabric <3 Pink pouch with green lining. I'll post pics later of the 2 I am about to make now. Until then, Sir Fritzalot (my new nickname for him) and I bid you farewell!
